Question for administrator

[edit]

This is in regard to Battle of Le Cateau, and the talk page therein. I feel the user Keith-264 is over-protective of this article. He constantly reverts my edits (usually immediately) and refuses to allow my attempts to add context to a much debated historical event. He seems to have chosen a point of view to follow and sticks to it, allowing no attempts to add other, conflicting information to the page, even when backed up by historical sources. Conflicting information for this page is paramount, because as mentioned the battle is still hotly debated, and I am not being allowed to add any changes whatsoever; in fact, if you examine the talk page, you will see that I have consistently tried to work with this user, but all my attempts are being brushed off as either essay writing or biased. They have remained pleasant and outwardly helpful, but I strongly suspect at this point they are showing poor faith. You will see the article allows speculation when suited to their purpose, but dismisses other speculation as unacceptable.

As I say they are being outwardly pleasant but I feel they are being overprotective of 'their' article, and any advice you can give me would be deeply appreciated, as I think the article as it stands is a gross misrepresentation of an important historical event. Thank you.

If discussion with the user has not resolved your concerns about the article, you should move to dispute resolution processes. If you have issues with the other user's behavior, you may start a discussion at WP:ANI(but be advised that your own actions will be examined as well, it is not a one way street). 331dot (talk) 20:16, 23 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. I am confident in my own actions (and indeed would accept a resolution not in my favour) but I just cannot get it out of my head that something inappropriate is going on here and I am being gaslit. Alooulla (talk) 20:56, 23 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Rowland Hill, 1st Viscount Hill, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page English. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
